First attempts at painting

Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & that you're all set for the New Year! I am trying something new & totally out of my comfort zone....some painting. Since becoming involved with Pinterest I have fallen in love with abstract painting...so in love that I had to take a shot at it. The first photo (on top) is my 2nd piece & the lower photo was my first. I am really enjoying it & hoping the more I paint the better I will become.

Peace & Love This Week

Good morning! I am staying with a peace & love theme this week. We  certainly need MORE of both!
I have taken to photographing my clothes now....such a weirdo! I fell hopelessly in love with street art on my recent trip to Spain & I just can't seem to get enough of it. Hunted all over Ebay for street art t-shirts & this is one of the two that I found..Charlie Chaplin. I mixed it up in PSE a bit tweeking color & opacity. I was pleased with the end result.

Back to PSE & Grunge Mask

Happy Wednesday! I put aside a little time yesterday for my Photoshop Class & this is what I came up with. A beautiful flower image manipulated a bit in PSE with a grunge mask added. The mask was a freebie from http://shadowhousecreations.blogspot.com/. He has some great grunge sets among other textured backgrounds. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

New Image Transfer

Good morning! I have a new image transfer today I did recently for a birthday present. These are my very good friends for many years...mother & daughter!
Mother, Ursina is here from Oregon visiting with her daughter, Deborah. I shot this pic one day when we went out to lunch & made a birthday gift for Deborah. It turned out very nice. It is 6x8 in size & I used Sheer Heaven for the image transfer. I am on to some more candy making today..Oreo truffles!

Making Tamales

What a quick weekend & Monday is upon us! Had a lot of fun this weekend helping some friends make tamales for Christmas. This was only my 2nd time at this & it had been MANY years since I made them before. For some reason...it didn't seem quite as hard this time. The best part was they were kind enough to send a nice big bag of tamales home with me. That is a treat we don't have that often. We ended up making 9 1/2 dozen all beef tamales & I am looking pretty pleased with the end result! Next weekend...time for the pork! Mexican food is my VERY favorite! Have a great week everyone! 

Enhancing Statues with Colors

Good morning! I started back on my PSE class I signed up for earlier this year. Fortunately for me...the class is there whenever I have the time to work on it. It is through the http://creativeworkshops.ning.com/ & the class is called Down & Dirty the Digital Way with Gail Schmidt. I think this is one of my two favorite art projects. I have a real soft spot for image transfers & photoshop elements! Love them both! Happy Thursday to all!

Lovely Little Girl PSE

Happy Monday everyone! It's been a wet weekend here & such a pleasant change. Everything smells so nice & feels so clean..I love it.
Today's piece is a freebie image from http://morguefile.com/ or http://pdphoto.org/. I don't recall which site it came from. The background was a free texture from a Flickr group. I went through layers upon layers to achieve this final look. I really love the photo & the beautiful blue dress she's wearing. Ok....I am off to blog hop now & I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.

Art Juices Flowing Again

Good morning & happy Friday! I believe I have some of my artistic juices flowing again. I spent a few hours yesterday altering some photos & had a great time. Good morning everyone! This is my first post in 6 months! I can't believe I've let my blog go for so long! I am making the rounds today & will attempt to stay in touch. I've become so involved with Facebook & Pinterest that my blog has unfortunately taken a back seat. I have a couple of PSE creations today...the bottom pic is from my trip to Spain in April. I've been Getting Funky

Good morning everyone. Yes...it's been three months since I have posted & I am surprised I still have people following me! There's just been so much to do that art has taken a back burner (I hate that thought!)
First off the Spain trip was over the top wonderful. There is a Flickr link on my blog you may click on if you have time to look through. I just couldn't stop my camera finger. I shot 2500+ pictures! It was an amazing experience....my first trip to Europe!
I broke down this weekend & signed up for another Photoshop class on line. I know once I start dipping back into some art I will be on a roll again. In the meantime....I messed with some http://www.befunky.com/ & that's how I did these pics of Cooper & his Mama.

Good morning everyone! This morning I have a PSE piece I did a couple of weeks ago. The image was a freebie from another blog & the background is one of my own. I was pleased with the end result as I LOVE bright colors!
2 weeks from today....I will be in Barcelona Spain & I am extremely excited. My little camera will be working overtime! Can't wait to share it with all of you! Happy Monday.

I've got an eye on you

Good morning everyone! I have a little Photoshop picture I did over the weekend. First off...I have to say how much I love http://morguefile.com/!
They have so many free images to work with & most of the time don't require a link back to them if you use one of their images. I had no eyeball pics of my own so this came in perfectly! I am about 25 days away from my Barcelona Spain trip & I am getting so excited. I will have tons of pics when I return.

Three boats & a log PSE creation

Good morning everyone! Here we are almost through February already...hard to believe I have been so lax with my postings. I hope you're all doing well!
I am posting a PSE piece this morning with 3 boats & a log. I like the way this one turned out as it almost looks like a painting...a bit of a different effect than I usually get. The image was a freebie from  http://morguefile.com/  & the background was one of my own.  Here's wishing you all a wonderful week....keep those creative juices flowing.......sometimes I have to push myself away from PINTEREST! That's probably why I haven't been doing much art!
